You are the first zombie in a multiplayer dungeon crawler. You have no fellow enemies to help you kill the players. You have barely even enough health to sustain one hit and your attack is so weak it makes me (the developer) look like Dwayne Johnson. You are basically a tutorial. A dummy for players to test their new weapons on. You are least dangerous monster in the whole game. Tired of always being the easy kill, you spawn into the game for what has to be the billionth time. A player is standing there. Your soul is so crushed by now you don't even move. You just stare at him. And he stares at you back, playing his idle animation. That's when you realize, he's AFK. Now's your chance, KILL HIM, TAKE HIS SWORD, and finally get SOME RESPECT.

This game was made in 48 hours for the GMTK game jam 2023 with the theme "Roles Reversed." In the game, the player is not the player, the player is the enemy, who takes weapons from other players (who are not players) and kills them to get better weapons, whilst also finally becoming respected by the players. (Okay it will make more sense when you play the game.) Basically your the very first easy to kill zombie in a dungeon game, and you're sick and tired of constantly being killed by the players. So one day you find a dude who is in the game but not actually playing so have to kill him, take his weapon, and get some payback.

Features:

- Beautiful, highest of the high quality pixel art; all made by me and only me!

- A TON of different weapons. I drew even more, but most of the weapons didn't make it into the final game.

- No AI generated anything whatsoever, as Mark (The GMTK guy) requested.

 - A bunch of kinds of enemies. Hitting enemies, Shooting enemies... okay maybe only two kinds of enemies but they all have different weapons and armor!

- Too much bloom. Even though the lighting in the scene looks normal at first, if two lights get too close to each other a blindingly bright splotch of white will appear.

- Ridiculously groovy soundtrack. Kill the players while listening to a soundtrack so mind-bogglingly groovy it's simply too  groovy for words, except of the word groovy. Made by me in Logic Pro. Sound effects were all from ProductionCrate.com.

- A fake chat. A chat that only NPCs (the "players") can type in after they die. full of silly, wacky messages like "WHY IS THIS SO HARD I HATE THIS GAME"

- You can dual wield! You can hold a melee weapon and a shooting weapon at the same time. You wanna attack enemies with a sword in one hand and a bow in the other? No problem!

- JUICE. Screen shake, particle effects, hit-stop, satisfying sound effects, all that juicy stuff to make the game satisfying. Plus, you and the players flash white for a couple frames when being hit for that sweet feedback.

How To Play:

- Move around with W,A,S and D.

- Left click to hit (in the direction the player is facing) and hold down the right mouse button to shoot in the direction of your mouse(if you have a weapon that can shoot)

- Pick up weapons, armor and healing potions by left clicking on the item while holding down the E key.

- The number in the middle bottom is your health, and the number right above that is your armor. The bottom right will display your melee weapon, with a big number indicating it's damage and a little number indicating it's hit rate. The same is on the bottom left for your ranged weapon.

That's about all you need to know. Enjoy!

Really nice and fun game to play, although the artwork is simple it is well made and has a nice theme.
